Science has taught us for years that coffee is bad for us – however, strong evidence has been revealed recently in favor of drinking the favorite hot drink regularly. To be exact, three to five cups a day cannot damager your health and is even considered to be beneficial.
For years we have been warned that drinking coffee is linked to pancreatic cancer and for sending your blood pressure level sky high. According to the United States Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, there is evidence suggesting that drinking the above-mentioned amount of coffee each day reduces the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Some scientists have found that coffee also keeps you safe from Parkinson’s.
High-caffeine drinks, however, should be avoided, especially by adolescents. They have been known to cause insomnia, palpitations and jitteriness. When choosing your coffee product, always go for natural coffee with low-fat milk, rather than ordering something flashy from a coffee shop.
Coffee contains some 1,000 chemicals, many of which have been attributed with anti-cancer characteristics. For instance, caffeic acid is believed to be inhibiting cell pathways involved in the growth of tumor.
And finally, it has been proved that coffee alone does not cause strokes. It may, in fact, reduce it the risk of it. Further studies into that claim are needed. For the time being, it seems, coffee is a definite yes. Every day.
